Shotty is a rock group from Seattle. It is described as a hard rock and noisy synthpop band, and it also sits within grunge, alternative rock, psychedelic and indie contexts.

History

Shotty forms in Seattle and competes in the EMP Sound Off! competition, where it is one of the finalists from Kirkland. The group tours across the United States and later relocates to Los Angeles.

Recordings and collaborators

The band works with producers Martin Feveyear, known for work with the Presidents of the United States of America, and Johnny Sangster, who is associated with Mudhoney. After moving to Los Angeles, Shotty teams up with producer Norm Block, who has worked with Plexi and Sweethead, and with Cautionary Tail Records on a run of EPs and singles.

Style and releases

Shotty also issues DIY music videos with a B-movie influence. It is associated with a planned album noted as being in final stages of preparation, and the group continues to be active.
