Septic Psychos

Septic Psychos are a punk group from Chesterfield, formed in 1979. They begin rehearsing and playing their first gigs in local pubs in 1981. The band record at Hologram Studios in Stockport, a studio used by other punk bands including Blitz and The Violators.

Recording and releases

At Hologram Studios, Septic Psychos record four songs for their first self-titled demo. The tracks are Not Wanted, Get that band off the stage, Kill the bill, and The Thatcher. The Thatcher presents the then Prime Minister as a B-movie monster stalking the land and feeding on the poor. The demo is issued on their own cassette label, Brain Splat Records.

Compilation appearance

Two of the band’s tracks appear on the 1982 compilation album Punk Dead? Nah mate, The Smells Jus Summink In Yer Underpants Innit.
