Sendelica

Sendelica are a psychedelic rock and space rock group from Cardigan, Wales, active since 2006. Based in and around Cardigan in the United Kingdom, the band focuses on instrumental music and draws on early Pink Floyd and Hawkwind. Their sound starts from guitar, bass and drums and is extended with electronics.

Line-up and activity

The band’s core members include Pete Bingham on guitars and electronics, Glenda Pescado on bass guitar, Paul Fields on drums and Lee Relfe on saxophone. The verified membership also includes Geoff Chase and Swordfish. Pescado is also associated with The Surf Messengers and previously played with Nik Turner’s All Stars.

Sendelica release music through Fruits de Mer Records, and the project also uses the self-run FRG Records name for early releases. They also issue very limited recordings through the Welsh label, studio and workshop collective Tidy Like Records.

Releases and collaborations

Their debut EP, TheOwlsHaveEyes, appears in 2006, followed by the album Entering the Rainbow Light in 2007. Both releases feature Bingham and Pescado with additional collaborators, including vocalists Chris Gibbs and Sarah E. Soon after these records, the group becomes a trio.

Later albums are described as more focused and properly produced and mastered, and are issued through R.A.I.G. The band also tours the east coast of the United States in spring 2008, ending with a show at the Knitting Factory in New York.
