Seether

Seether is an alternative metal, hard rock, post-grunge and rock group that forms in Pretoria and is active from 1999. The band starts in May 1999 in Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa, and originally performs under the name Saron Gas until 2002.

When the band moves to the United States in 2002, it changes its name to Seether to avoid confusion with the chemical sarin gas. The group has Shaun Morgan on lead vocals and guitar, Dale Stewart on bass, John Humphrey on drums and Corey Lowery on guitar. Seether also undergoes several lineup changes over time, with Morgan as the only constant member.

The band gains mainstream attention in 2002 with the US Active Rock number one single “Fine Again”. Its profile continues to rise in 2004 with “Broken”, which reaches number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100. Seether also achieves number one singles on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart with “Remedy”, “Fake It”, “Country Song”, “Words as Weapons” and “Let You Down”. It is associated with Seether Publishing and Spinefarm Records.
