Sean Taylor

Sean Taylor is a singer-songwriter from Kilburn in north-west London. He works in blues and Americana and has released five albums.

Recording career

His albums include Corrugations (2006), Angels (2007), Calcutta Grove (2009), Walk With Me (2010, later re-released through Proper) and Love Against Death (2012, on Proper Distribution). Walk With Me is co-produced by Trevor Hutchinson, and it is recorded with musicians including BJ Cole and Vyvienne Long. Love Against Death is recorded in Austin, Texas with producer Mark Hallman and includes 12 songs and a duet with Eliza Gilkyson. It is described as a political album and includes the song “Stand Up”, which is shared by the Occupy Movement.

Live work and collaborations

Taylor tours widely across the UK and Europe and appears at festivals including Glastonbury, Cambridge Folk Festival, Celtic Connections, Beautiful Days, Beverley Folk, Tolpuddle Martyrs, Chagstock, Secret Garden Party, Summertyne Americana Festival, Rhythms of the World, Weyfest and St Ives Festival. He also plays support slots for John Fogerty, the Neville Brothers, George Benson, Tom Paxton, Eric Bibb, June Tabor, Band of Horses, Dick Gaughan and Martin Simpson.

Taylormade Media Group is credited for A&R coordination. Taylor also receives airplay on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio Scotland and BBC Radio Wales.
