Sean Rowe

Sean Rowe is a folk and singer-songwriter from Troy, United States. He is also described as an alternative folk musician. Born in 1975 and raised in Troy, New York, he starts playing music at an early age. His father gives him a bass guitar for his 12th birthday, and he performs in a local band. Later, after his uncle gives him an acoustic guitar, he begins performing solo.

Early performing and local work

From 2003, Rowe plays locally in his hometown at open mics, bars and cafes. This period establishes the solo work that leads into his recorded output.

Mudfunk and early releases

Rowe begins playing with percussionist Marco Haber, who appears on several tracks on his first album, 27. The two then perform under the name Mudfunk and record a live album, Live at the Grind, as well as the single Wrong Side Of The Bed. That song is later re-recorded for Rowe's solo album Magic, with different instrumentation and without Haber.

Recording

Rowe records for ANTI- Records.
