Seafret

Seafret is an English indie folk and indie pop duo from East Riding of Yorkshire, formed by Harry Draper and Jack Sedman. The group is active from 2015 and is based around Draper on guitar and Sedman on vocals.

Formation and name

Jack Sedman and Harry Draper first meet at an open mic night around 2011. Draper is already an experienced local musician, while Sedman has only recently started singing. The name Seafret combines a reference to the guitar fretboard with a local word for the rolling sea mist that comes in from the North Sea during summer.

The pair now live in London, though they say the sea is what they miss most.

Early release

Seafret release their debut EP, Give Me Something, on Sweet Jane Recordings. The five-track release includes the title track, “Explosion”, “Play With Guns”, “Did We Miss The Morning”, and an acoustic version of “Give Me Something”.
