Screaming Maldini

Screaming Maldini are a British indie pop group from the United Kingdom, active from 2009 onwards, and associated with quirk pop. They form in Sheffield and play a style built around indie pop with a broad instrumental line-up.

Line-up

The band includes Nick Cox on vocals and guitar, Tom Robinson on drums, Andy Nesbitt on trumpet and vocals, Gina Walters on percussion and vocals, Chris Noble on keyboard, horn and vocals, and Annie Rushworth on bass and vocals.

Releases

They release two EPs on Alcopop Records. And the Kookaburra appears in 2010, followed by Restless Hearts And Silent Pioneers later that year.

Musical character

The group uses guitars, horns, keys, cowbells, tambourines and choir-like vocals, alongside an unusual, playful image. They are also compared with The Flaming Lips, Coldplay, Mercury Rev and Bloc Party.
