Saraswati

Saraswati is an indie/noise rock band from Indianapolis. The group forms in spring 1998 and features Todd Bracik on guitar, Matt Chandler on bass and vocals, Andrew Greenburg on guitar and vocals, and Dave Clark on drums.

Line-up changes

Dave Clark leaves the band after a few months and is replaced by Ben Adrian. In summer 2000, Adrian moves to the San Francisco Bay Area and Koven Smith of Blinder takes over on drums.

Recordings and releases

The band’s first record, I Decided To Move To 30 Years Ago, appears in 1999. A second self-titled release, Saraswati, follows in 2001. The group also plays extensively across the Midwest and records its final show, which is issued online as December 12, 2003.

After the band

After Saraswati ends in December 2003, Ben Adrian performs in Replicator, Cartographer, and Guitar vs. Gravity. Matt Chandler joins Thin Fevers. Andrew Greenburg plays bass in Rooms and starts a new band with Todd Bracik. Koven Smith continues with The Monster Zero Orchestra and later forms Heart and Go with former Hula bassist Madelyn Burgess.
