Samara Lubelski

Samara Lubelski is an American singer, violinist, guitarist and bassist from New York, United States. She works in experimental, folk pop, pop and psychedelic music, and is associated with folk, singer-songwriter, psychedelic folk and psychedelic styles.

Career

Lubelski is a member of several bands and projects, including Of a Mesh, The Sonora Pine, Hall of Fame, Chelsea Light Moving, Metabolismus, Salmon Skin, The Tower Recordings, Pacer and Augenmusik. Her work also includes MV & EE and the Bummer Road. She divides her time between Germany and New York, where she works with the psychedelic group Metabolismus and records in the Lower East Side scene.

As a solo artist, she begins releasing studio albums in 2003. Her first solo release is In the Valley, issued in 1997 on Child of Microtones. This is followed by The Fleeting Skies, a full-band recording of psychedelic folk rock released on Social Registry and De Stijl.

Collaborations

Lubelski is a prolific guest musician, appearing mainly on violin and sometimes bass on recordings by artists including the Fiery Furnaces, White Magic, Thurston Moore, God Is My Co-Pilot, Jackie-O Motherfucker and Sightings.

She also performs with artists from the art-punk and freely improvised folk scenes, including Tower Recordings, Hall of Fame and Matt Valentine.
