Ryan Spendlove is a UK musician and singer-songwriter from Gawthorpe, a former mining village in West Yorkshire. He starts playing guitar at 18 and first comes to wider attention as a founding member of the four-piece band The Blueskins.

Career

With The Blueskins, Spendlove tours Europe and the United States, and the band plays major festivals including Leeds, Reading and South by Southwest. The group later regroups in 2005 and splits in 2008. Their best-known song, “Change My Mind”, is used in a Lynx deodorant television commercial and in the remake of The Dukes of Hazzard.

Solo work

After The Blueskins, Spendlove performs as a solo artist. He signs to Candyrat Records in Chicago and records his first solo acoustic album there over three days. He continues to play gigs across the UK. He is also associated with Audio Network and with production music.
