Russian Red is the stage name of Lourdes Hernández, a singer-songwriter from Madrid, Spain. Born in 1985, she works in folk and is based in Madrid.

Background

Hernández uses the Russian Red name after a lipstick colour she often wears. The project begins in 2007 with Brian Hunt, with whom she has previously recorded songs and who helps her record her first album. The pair later split before that album is released.

Debut album

Her debut album, I Love Your Glasses, is released on eureka Discos. It contains 12 tracks, including “Another mind”, which appears on the soundtrack to El rey de la montaña, “Cigarettes”, which appears on the soundtrack to Camino, and “Nice Thick Feathers”, which appears in a Häagen Dazs commercial.
