Royal Bangs
Royal Bangs are an American indie rock group from Knoxville, United States. The band forms in 2005 and is active from 2005 to the present. It is a trio made up of Chris Rusk on drums, Ryan Schaefer on keyboards, vocals and electronics, and Sam Stratton on guitar.
Recordings and labels
The group releases its debut LP, We Breed Champions, in 2008 on Audio Eagle Records, the independent label founded and run by Patrick Carney of The Black Keys. The album is then issued in Europe by German label City Slang the following year. Their second album, Let It Beep, appears in 2009 on Audio Eagle Records in the United States and City Slang in Europe.
Style and reception
The band is associated with indie rock, math rock, math pop and rock. Their debut album is described in one review as combining garage rock, quirky indie rock and electronica, with a confident and unusual sound.
