Rodgers is an early blues musician and a member of Miller and Rodgers in the United States. The name also appears in connection with a separate Norwegian group from Svartlamon, Trondheim, which forms as a two-piece Jimmie Rodgers cover band in 2004 and later expands its membership and style. That group develops an eclectic sound drawing on country, British folk and rock ’n’ roll, with elements of yodelling, cabaret, campfire singing and hootenanny music. Its lyrics focus on love, pain, local history, larger-than-life characters and the murder of Johnny Thunders. Its debut album, Sudden Crop, appears on Crispin Glover Records in 2014.
