Rob Da Bank, born Robert Gorham, is a British disc jockey and radio presenter. He is known for presenting a late-night Sunday show on BBC Radio 1, focused on new leftfield music. He also presents the Blue Room on Radio 1 with Chris Coco, a programme that runs until September 2006, and he hosts One Music on Thursday nights. He stands in for John Peel’s show for several weeks after Peel’s death in 2004.

Radio work

Rob Da Bank’s Radio 1 output centres on alternative and leftfield music. Sunday Best occupies a midnight-to-2am slot on Sundays and is associated with a more relaxed listening culture rather than dancefloor-oriented club music. The Blue Room, presented with Chris Coco, develops a reputation for a distinctive mix of chillout music. One Music follows a similar broad approach to his Sunday show.

Sunday Best and related projects

He runs business ventures under the name Sunday Best, which begins as a Sunday night event in a Battersea tea-room. The name expands into a record label and a festival offshoot, Bestival. The Sunday Best broadcasts also help promote what is described as a “bar culture” approach to music listening.
