RIOPY is the professional name of Jean-Philippe Rio-Py, also known as JPRP. He is a French pianist and composer, born in France in 1983. He works in contemporary classical and instrumental music.

Career

RIOPY is discovered in Oxford in 2006, where he begins his training before starting a professional career in London. He is chosen at a young age as a featured Steinway & Sons artist. He performs at the Royal Opera House in 2010 and opens the first night relaunch of The Arts Club in Mayfair in 2011.

Composition and media work

His compositions appear in film trailers and feature films. He also writes music for labels including Air-Edel, EMI and Warner/Chappell Music. His work is broadcast worldwide and used in advertising campaigns for Hulu, Samsung and Mercedes, as well as Giorgio Armani.

RIOPY contributes music to trailers for The Danish Girl, Mr Turner, Jimmy's Hall and A Royal Night Out. In 2017, he signs to Warner Classics.
