Richard Walters is an English singer, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and composer from Oxford. He is also a producer. His work is associated with acoustic music, singer-songwriter traditions and indie music.

Career

Walters first appears as the frontman of Theremin, releasing music on Shifty Disco Records. He then issues his first solo EP in May 2004 on Beard Museum Records. The EP Umbrella Songs is produced by Andy Lovegrove and attracts attention from Nic Harcourt, presenter of the Los Angeles radio show Morning Becomes Eclectic on KCRW.

He later releases the five-track EP Pilotlights on Big Scary Monsters Recordings. That release includes tracks produced by Guy Sigsworth and David Kosten. Walters also tours with Gemma Hayes and Dave Matthews.

His track All at Sea features on the US television series CSI: Miami. He releases his debut album, The Animal, in 2009.

Collaborations and projects

Walters is part of mono band, the side project of Cranberries guitarist Noel Hogan. The project releases its debut album in Ireland in 2005 to critical acclaim.
