Rezet

Rezet is a German speed metal and thrash metal group from Schleswig, Germany. It forms in 2004 and is active from that point onward.

History

The band is founded by Richard Wagner and Thorben Schulz. After several line-up changes and demo tapes, the group settles on a line-up of Richard Wagner on guitar and vocals, Thorben Schulz on guitar, Sascha Mahrt on bass, and Jens Johannsen on drums.

Rezet first plays a small number of gigs in Schleswig-Holstein, then performs more widely across Germany, Belgium and Poland. The group’s main influences come from 1980s thrash metal and speed metal bands.

Releases and name

The band names itself to underline its view that old-school metal is not dead. Its demo tape Toxic Avenger is the fifth EP it releases since 2004.
