Reignwolf

Reignwolf is a blues rock and garage rock group with roots in Seattle, Washington, though its origin is given as the United States. The line-up includes Jordan Cook on vocals, Stacey James Kardash on bass, Joseph Braley on drums, and David Rapaport. Cook, who is from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, moves to Seattle in late 2011 and brings together the band after meeting Rapaport and Braley, both of whom have played in The Mothers Anger.

Formation and early releases

Reignwolf forms around Cook’s move to Seattle, with Cook inviting Rapaport and Braley to join him. The band builds a reputation through extensive touring before releasing its first single, “Are You Satisfied?”, in 2013. The same day, it performs at Lollapalooza. The single becomes the group’s best-known song and is described as a hit release.

Later in 2013, Reignwolf is named as the direct support act for Black Sabbath’s 2014 North American tour. Two more singles follow: “In the Dark” and “Lonely Sunday”. In January 2014, Rolling Stone includes the band in its “10 New Artists You Need to Know” list.

Album work and later activity

Reignwolf plays its final show of 2014 on New Year’s Eve at The Showbox in Seattle. In 2015, the band signs with Stardog Records, part of the Republic/UMG umbrella, and begins writing and recording its debut album. During this period, it also appears in the Cameron Crowe Showtime series Roadies, in the episode “What Would Phil Do?”

In 2019, Reignwolf releases “Black and Red” as the first single from Hear Me Out, and the album follows later that year. In 2022, the group releases “The Woods” with Brad Wilk, the drummer of Rage Against the Machine.
