Redwood

Redwood is a defunct alternative rock and indie rock group from Sutton Coldfield in the United Kingdom. The band is active from 1989 to 2004 and consists of Rob Blackham, Alistair Cowan and Angus Cowan.

Career

The band releases its first self-financed album, Slow Train, in 1989. It follows with Head, which includes the live favourite “Sad Sick World”, and then several more albums. In 1997 the group signs to the US label Almo Sounds, an offshoot of A&M Records, and releases Colourblind, which is produced by Mark Wallis, known for work with U2.

After Almo Sounds collapses, Redwood returns to releasing music independently. This period includes the Lazydog EP and a continued pattern of writing and playing live. The band also plans a collection of B-sides and unreleased tracks for 2007.
