Recondite is the recording name of Lorenz Brunner, a techno music producer from Berlin. He is also described as a German musician, label owner and sound artist. Brunner grows up in Lower Bavaria, in a rural environment that is often cited as an influence on his work.

His music sits across acid techno, techno and electronic music, and also draws on deep house and ambient elements. His output combines low-tempo, reflective pieces with direct dancefloor tracks, and it often blurs the boundaries between these styles. He releases albums and EPs under the Recondite name.

Brunner uses field recordings and synthesizers in his production, including Ableton’s Native Instruments Operator synthesizer, which combines analogue sounds with frequency modulation synthesis. In his acid productions, he uses additional synthesiser sounds, while his other work is built around this approach. He is associated with Plangent Records.
