RANT

RANT is used by more than one act, including an Austrian emocore and metalcore band and a Scottish folk and fiddle group.

Austrian band

The Austrian RANT begins in Kapfenberg and forms in 1999. It starts under the name Yeast Dough before taking the name RANT. The group consists of Martin Weber on vocals, Christian Seidinger on guitar, Joachim Hofer on bass and Christian Hollik on drums. Its music is described as emocore and metalcore, with tags also linking it to hardcore, dark hardcore and screamo. The band keeps the same lineup from May 2002 onward and develops a following in its home region and across Austria.

Scottish band

A separate RANT is a folk, traditional, Scottish, Celtic and fiddle group from Scotland. Its members include Bethany Reid, Jenna Reid, Anna Massie and Lauren MacColl on fiddle, with Sarah-Jane Summers listed as a former member.
