Randy Houser is a US country singer and songwriter from the United States, born in 1976. He works in contemporary country and country music, and is also associated with country rock, alt-country and new country.

Career

Houser signs with Universal South Records in 2008 and charts with the single “Anything Goes”, the title track of his debut album. That album also produces “Boots On”, his first Top 5 hit. In 2012 he moves to Broken Bow Records imprint Stoney Creek.

His third album, How Country Feels, reaches the country radio chart with the title track and with “Runnin' Outta Moonlight”. It also includes “Goodnight Kiss”, which becomes his first number one as a songwriter, and “Like a Cowboy”, a Top 5 song that receives a Country Music Association Song of the Year nomination in 2015. “Goodnight Kiss” reaches number one on the Mediabase Country Chart and number two on the Country Airplay chart, while “Like a Cowboy” reaches number three on the Country Airplay chart in March 2015.

Songwriting

Before establishing himself as a recording artist, Houser works primarily as a songwriter. He co-writes “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” for Trace Adkins, “Back That Thing Up” for Justin Moore, and “My Cowboy” for Jessie James.

Other work

By late 2023, Houser appears on screen in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro, and in Dennis Quaid’s The Hill.
