Early life and musical influences

Her early listening spans several different styles: her mother listens to Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, while her father listens to Elvis Costello. She also hears 2pac in her older sister’s bedroom, and N*E*R*D are the first band she loves. She starts making music at 14, using a keyboard and writing from a background in poetry.

Early releases

At 15, she puts up her first track, “Bout You”. The track becomes part of Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Bubblers 8 compilation. She later self-releases the Limey EP, a five-song release that includes co-writes and production from Oddisee, Chet Faker, Daje, Eldad Guetta, BLK RSSN, Flowzart and Cole M.G.N.
