Radium is the solo project of French electro hardcore artist Daniel Técoult. He is active in electronic music, frenchcore and hardcore techno, and is also associated with hardcore, Hardtek, Darkcore and industrial hardcore.

Career

Técoult starts producing extreme electronic music in 1993 with a school friend. The pair name the project Micropoint in 1994, while Técoult also begins a solo DJ career under the name Radium. The first Micropoint vinyl releases appear in 1995 on B.E.A.S.T. Records and Epiteth Records.

In 1996, Radium launches Audiogenic and his own label, Psychik Genocide. With two other producers from Paris, Micropoint also starts Dead End Records.

Micropoint and releases

In 1999, Laurent Hô of Epiteth Records releases the Micropoint album Neurophonie. The album brings wide attention for Micropoint and Radium, leading to bookings at major French events including Boréalis, Heliocolors, Astropolis and the final of Paris’ Techno Parade in 1999, as well as clubs such as Rex and Arapaho.

Radium and Micropoint also release music on Super Special Corp. and Shockwave Recordings in Germany, Xunk in France, Head Fuck Records in Italy, Cunt Records in the Netherlands, and Deathchant and Rebelscum in the UK.

In 2000, Radium releases the mix-CD Radium - Inhuman. Micropoint then issue their second album, Anesthesie International, which includes guest appearances from E.HB, the singer of LTNO, DID.S, drummer of Treponem Pal, and Manu Le Malin. The project tours French concert halls with a live show that includes a drummer and an MC.

Later work

After Micropoint splits up at the end of 2001, Radium returns with Paranoia Performance, followed by InExtremist, which is also issued on two vinyl records. InExtremist becomes a breakthrough for Radium in the Netherlands and leads to bookings at several editions of Hellbound in Amsterdam.

In 2003, Radium starts the Arena label for his less industrial tracks and launches a new project called Nihilist, The.
