Quantize
Quantize is an Israeli psy-trance and progressive trance duo from Israel, made up of Adi Ashkenazi and Reshef Harari. The project starts in 2004, following the pair’s first work on trance music at the end of 2003 under the Quantize name.
Early development
The duo begins by setting up their first studio in the open countryside of Israel, using newly bought production equipment including a computer, monitors, a sound card and a Virus C synthesiser. Their first release follows in 2004. After leaving that studio, they continue developing their sound in a new location, with both artists increasingly focusing on progressive trance.
Studio work and releases
Reshef Harari builds a home before creating a professional production studio and upgrading the recording equipment. Quantize then spend two years working in the studio, studying, exploring and refining their sound. During this period they work with Domo Records and become one of that label’s artists, with releases on Blue Tunes, Medijum, Aphonix, Domo and Dooflex.
Compilations, remixes and label work
In 2007 Quantize compile their first various-artists CD, Stepping Forward, released on Domo / Ear Peaks Music. They also remix tracks by Earsugar, V-Tunes, Aerospace, Ace Ventura and Intelabeam. Their style is described as pumping, crunchy and psychedelic progressive trance.
Iboga Records
In November 2007 the duo joins Iboga Records as exclusive label artists. Their work with the label includes a double digital release and a remix of Earsugar.
Performances
Quantize also perform as DJs and in live settings in Israel and outside it.
