Pussycat
Pussycat is a Dutch pop group from Brunssum, Netherlands, associated with country pop, soft rock and pop. The group is best known for the song “Mississippi”, which becomes its key track and its biggest hit, reaching number one in the UK Singles Chart.
Career
The group is active in the 1970s and scores a series of Dutch hits during that decade. Its best-known line-up centres on Toni Willé, Ferd Berger, Frans Meijer and Henk Dragstra. “Mississippi” appears in 1976, followed by “Smile” in 1976 and “Hey Joe” in 1978.
Style
Pussycat works in a blend of country pop and pop, with a soft-pop and soft-rock character. The group is identified with the Dutch pop scene of the 1970s.
