Pro-Pain

Pro-Pain is a New York, United States-based hardcore and groove metal group that forms in 1991 and remains active. It is founded by vocalist and bassist Gary Meskil and drummer Dan Richardson, both former members of Crumbsuckers. The group’s line-up changes over time, and its members include Tom Klimchuck, Mike Hollman, Nick St. Denis, Rob Moschetti, Dave Chavarri, Mike Hanzel, Eric Matthews, Eric Klinger, Rich Ferjanic, JC Dwyer, Marshall Stephens, Ricky Halverson, Adam Phillips, Jonas Sanders, Matt Sheridan, Gregory Discenza and Fadix pro 2.5.6, alongside Meskil and Richardson.

The band’s sound sits within hardcore, groove metal and thrash metal, and its early recordings also show hardcore punk and rap metal influences. Its debut album, Foul Taste of Freedom, appears in 1992 and is later reissued by Roadrunner Records after the band signs to the label. Its second album, The Truth Hurts, is initially banned because of its sleeve artwork, which shows a stitched-up woman after an autopsy.

Its discography includes Contents Under Pressure, Pro-Pain, Act of God, Round 6, Shreds of Dignity, Fistful of Hate, Prophets of Doom, Age of Tyranny, No End in Sight, Absolute Power, Straight To The Dome, The Final Revolution and Voice Of Rebellion.
