Pontus Snibb

Pontus Snibb is a Swedish singer and guitarist associated with blues rock and classic rock. He works as a recording and live artist and is known for a long-running, productive career in several bands and projects, including SNiBB and Bonafide.

Career

Snibb appears as a frontman and guitarist as well as a drummer in some contexts. He is part of Pontus Snibb’s Wreck of Blues, and the verified membership list also places him alongside The Wildhearts, Bonafide, Jason & The Scorchers and A Tribute to Led Zeppelin. He has a close connection with Bonafide, where drummer Niklas Matsson also plays.

He has also played drums for Jason & The Scorchers. In connection with Pontus Snibb 3, he records and performs with bassist Mats Rydström and drummer Niklas Matsson, the rhythm section from Backdraft. Rydström and Matsson also record and tour with the American boogie band Raging Slab.

Pontus Snibb 3 and Loud Feathers

Pontus Snibb 3 is a power trio formed as a new band and also as a continuation of Snibb’s earlier solo work. Its debut album, Loud Feathers, is recorded in less than a week, mostly live, at Gig Studio in Stockholm with producer and engineer Conny Wall.

The album contains eleven tracks and draws on classic rock influences including The Who, Free, Crazy Horse and Van Halen. It features guest appearances from guitarist Conny Bloom of Electric Boys, harmonica player Mats Ronander and Ralf Gyllenhammar of Mustasch, who contributes vocals and screams.

Collaborations and related work

Snibb’s previous solo releases include Admiral Street Recordings 1 and Admiral Street Recordings 2, with the second of those released by Rootsy in 2009. His recorded work with Pontus Snibb 3 is distributed by Warner/ADA. Conny Wall, who works with artists including Ane Brun, Electric Boys, Peter Bjorn & John and Imperial State Electric, handles the recording.

Style

His music is described through blues rock, rock and blues-oriented classic rock, with an emphasis on live performance, minimal overdubbing and a direct studio feel.
