Polly Paulusma

Polly Paulusma is an English singer-songwriter with a folk and acoustic profile. She grows up listening to Joni Mitchell and Carole King, writes her first song at the age of ten, and spends her early adulthood moving between music and other paths, including academic work and novel writing.

After graduating from Cambridge University, she begins a PhD, and at another point she is represented by a literary agent as a novelist. Music remains her main interest throughout this period: she sings and writes songs in bands, but does not set out to pursue it professionally until later. A turning point comes when she records backing vocals for Ben & Jason, after which she decides to focus on her own recording career.

Her debut album arrives after years of avoiding that step, following what she describes as a long period of denial about making music her main work. She is also known for touring with artists including Bob Dylan, Coldplay, Gary Jules, Jamie Cullum, Joseph Arthur and Marianne Faithfull.
