Polaroid 85

Polaroid 85 is a United Kingdom-based group formed in 2011 around singer, composer and producer Neeta Sarl. After early demo tracks attract interest from BBC Radio DJs including Tom Robinson and Bobby Friction, Sarl moves to London and brings together a larger group of musicians to develop the project.

The group makes downtempo, cinematic music built from haunting vocals, deep bass, intricate orchestral layers and glitchy samples. Their sound is centred on soulful, piano-led writing and draws on jazz, liquid drum’n’bass, trip hop, broken-beat, world, classical and folk music.

Releases

Polaroid 85 release the Escapist EP. The project presents the group’s blend of atmospheric electronics and vocal-led songwriting.
