Pocket Apocalypse

Pocket Apocalypse are a Liverpool-based alternative rock band drawing on post-rock, math rock and progressive influences. The band forms in 2008, when bassist Leandro Cuzzocrea joins Rik Davnall, Chris Caterall and Nick Jones. Their music is instrumental rock with a large, layered sound, and they build a live reputation through support slots at venues in Liverpool and elsewhere in the UK.

Early recognition and releases

In 2009, Pocket Apocalypse win the Liverpool University Battle of the Bands. The following year they record the five-track independent EP Burn to Grace at Orange Sound Studios in Penmaenmawr, North Wales, over five days. In 2011, their track Moment In The Sun is chosen for a NewPath compilation presenting alternative and experimental music from the UK, and they also perform at the NewPath Festival that summer.

Line-up changes and live work

Rik Davnall leaves the band in 2012, and Phil Dunn joins as his replacement. The group shares stages with MinionTv, Cleft, The Tone Puppets, Book Thieves, Xander and the Peace Pirates, Half Cut Harry, Sick Circus, Built on Tradition, Jets at Dawn and Jeramiah Ferrari. They also appear at Liverpool Sound City in May 2013.
