Pharrell Williams is an American singer-songwriter, rapper, record producer and fashion designer from Virginia Beach, Virginia, United States. He works in contemporary R&B, hip hop, pop, pop rap, pop soul and R&B.

Career

Williams is best known as one half of the production duo the Neptunes, alongside Chad Hugo. The pair produce soul, hip hop and R&B music and have produced many hit singles for other artists. He also leads the band N*E*R*D as vocalist and drummer, together with Hugo and childhood friend Shay Haley. Other group credits include Child Rebel Soldier, The Magnificent Six, Surrounded by Idiots and Shark City Click.

As a solo artist, he releases the single “Frontin’” in 2003 and the album In My Mind in 2006, followed by G I R L. He also receives eleven Grammy Awards, including two with the Neptunes.

Other work

Williams runs i am OTHER, a media venture and creative collective that covers entertainment, music, fashion and art. It also functions as a record label and umbrella for several of his projects, including Billionaire Boys Club, Ice Cream apparel, Billionaire Girls Club, Bionic Yarn and a dedicated YouTube channel. His label and publishing credits include i am OTHER, More Water From Nazareth Publishing, Inc., Waters of Nazareth Publishing and Neptune Productions.
