Perfect Blue Sky

Perfect Blue Sky is a multi-national rock group based in Stockholm, Sweden, with an origin in the United Kingdom. The project is built around Jane Kitto from Australia and guitarist Pna Andersson from Sweden, who lead the band as its core songwriting pair.

Style and approach

The group’s music draws on 1960s and 1970s psychedelic rock, with elements of folk poetry woven into the songs. Its sound is described through references to classic rock guitar styles, odd time changes, and comparisons to the partnership style associated with Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, as well as touches of Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd.

Live performances and rotating line-up

Perfect Blue Sky works with a changing line-up of guest musicians from different countries, and presents itself as a festival band. Its live sets follow a planned sequence from start to finish, and often end with tribute songs for guest artists who appear with the group.

Notable collaborators

For its early shows in Finland and Sweden, the band includes Peter Albin and Dave Getz, both associated with Janis Joplin’s first band, Big Brother and the Holding Company. Danny Oakhill also appears in the line-up as a keyboard player. The band has also considered Teddy “Zig Zag” Andreadis, a US pianist and harmonica player who has worked with Carole King, Guns N’ Roses, Slash, Alice Cooper and Billy Bob Thornton.

Releases

The group’s first album is Emerald, which appears on Scarecrow Recordings. The band follows that release as part of its activity around European summer festivals.

Core members

Jane Kitto and Pna Andersson remain the central figures in the project, with Andersson serving as guitarist and co-writer. The band presents their collaboration as the foundation of Perfect Blue Sky’s songs and live performances.
