Pelican

Pelican is a Chicago-based US metal band formed in 2001. It plays instrumental music associated with post-metal, post-rock, sludge metal, doom metal and atmospheric sludge metal, and is known for being almost entirely instrumental.

Line-up

The group consists of Trevor de Brauw on guitar, Bryan Herweg on bass, Larry Herweg on drums, and Laurent Schroeder-Lebec on guitars. Schroeder-Lebec is part of the band across two periods, from 2001 to 2012 and again from 2022 onwards. Dallas Thomas is a former guitarist, active in the band from 2012 to 2020.

Releases

Pelican has released seven studio albums and six EPs. Its studio albums are Australasia, The Fire in Our Throats Will Beckon the Thaw, City of Echoes, What We All Come to Need, Forever Becoming, Nighttime Stories and Flickering Resonance.
