Paul Wilkes
Paul Wilkes is a singer-songwriter associated with alt-country, indie and acoustic music. He begins his career in Liverpool and earns early critical attention from Word and Hotpress. He also performs support slots with artists including Joan Armatrading and Thea Gilmore.
After winning a songwriting award at LIPA, he performs with Sir Paul McCartney. His tracks also appear in a number of ITV documentaries. He tours in the Republic of Ireland and England, and plays sold-out shows in his home city of Liverpool.
Wilkes later pauses his music career to raise a young family with his wife Kathryn. After becoming a father to two children, he returns to recording and performing. He is described as equally at home performing solo or with a three-piece band.
His live work remains central to his profile, and he continues as a performer rooted in honest, direct songwriting.
