Paul Reynolds

Paul Reynolds is a Liverpool-born engineer and musician known as the lead guitarist and singer in A Flock of Seagulls. He joins the band at the age of seventeen after Frank Maudsley invites him to audition when Willie Woo leaves with no notice and gigs already booked. Reynolds is also known for his large white glasses and serious manner on stage.

A Flock of Seagulls

A Flock of Seagulls rises to wider attention after the release of "(It's Not Me) Talking" in the UK. An album follows, together with two more hit singles, a Grammy Award and a worldwide tour by the time Reynolds is twenty. Reynolds is part of the Liverpudlian line-up associated with the band’s early success.

Later activity

When Mike Score reforms A Flock of Seagulls in 1989, Reynolds and the other remaining members do not rejoin. In 2004, Reynolds and his former bandmates reunite with Score for a one-off London performance for VH1's Bands Reunited, where the band performs "I Ran" to a sold-out audience. Reynolds says he leaves the group because he feels too young for the rock and roll lifestyle and under too much pressure.
