Patsy Reid

Patsy Reid

Patsy Reid is a Scottish fiddle player and musician from Knapp, Perthshire. She works in both traditional and classical music, and also has experience as a performer and teacher.

Career

Reid releases her debut solo album, With Complements, in 2002. She is the youngest-ever winner of the Glenfiddich Fiddle Championship, and at 17 she reaches the final of the original BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year Award.

Groups and collaborations

Reid is a founding member of Breabach, which wins a Danny Kyle Award at Celtic Connections in 2005. She also performs with Maeve MacKinnon, and in 2012 records an album as the duo Mhairi Hall & Patsy Reid.

Other projects

She is also a member of Vamm, Sweet Liberties, LYRE LYRE, and Alligin String Octet.
