Paramount

Paramount forms in 2002 while the members are students at UCLA. It is a three-piece band from Los Angeles that plays fast-paced rock, with its sound described as garage rock and pop rock. The group draws on early Beatles and the Kinks, as well as later influences such as the Strokes and the first two Weezer albums.

The band plays regularly around the Los Angeles area and builds a reputation through energetic live performances. Its music airs on LA’s Indie 103.1 FM and on Rodney Bingenheimer’s show on LA’s 106.7 KROQ. Paramount also appears often at O’Brien’s in Santa Monica.

Paramount records two EPs with producer Matt Beckley and later releases a debut 14-track album in 2006. One of its songs, “What You Got Comin’,” appears in the film Strangers with Candy.
