Paramore

Paramore is an American pop rock band from Franklin, United States, formed in 2004. The group is associated with rock, pop punk, alternative rock, acoustic rock, emo, emo pop, new wave, and pop. It is signed to Fueled by Ramen.

Lineup and formation

Hayley Williams, Taylor York, and Zac Farro are the core members of the band from 2017 onward. Williams and Farro are founding members, while York, a high school friend of the original lineup, joins in 2007. Other members listed across the band’s history include Jason Bynum, Jeremy Davis, Josh Farro, John Hembree, and Hunter Lamb. Jeremy Davis leaves the band near the end of 2015, and Zac Farro rejoins in 2017.

Albums and chart success

The band’s debut album, All We Know Is Falling, is released in 2005 and reaches number 30 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart in 2006, as well as number four on the UK Rock Chart in 2009. Riot! follows in 2007 and includes the singles “Misery Business”, “Crushcrushcrush”, and “That’s What You Get”; it is certified Platinum in the United States. Brand New Eyes appears in 2009, reaches number two on the Billboard 200, and produces the top-forty single “The Only Exception”; it is certified platinum in Ireland and the UK.

The self-titled album Paramore is released in 2013 and reaches number one in the United States, as well as in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico. It includes the singles “Still Into You” and “Ain’t It Fun”, with “Ain’t It Fun” winning the Grammy Award for Best Rock Song. After Laughter follows in 2017 and This Is Why in 2023; both reach the top ten on various charts, and This Is Why wins the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album.
