Para

Para is a Slovak rock band formed in 1995. It begins with a punk approach and develops into a pop-rock act, with its work also associated with alternative rock, indie and dub. The band is based in Slovakia and has Lasky as a member.

Career and recordings

The group releases a series of studio albums: Veci začnú fungovať in 2000, 1234 in 2001, Brutálna zostava in 2004, Para in 2007 and Povstanie in 2010. By the time of the 2000s, it has four studio albums and uses a range of instruments and sounds in its recordings.

In 2006, Para signs a contract with Sony BMG Music and releases its first DVD, Live at Babylon. The 2007 album Para includes guest appearances from Jana Kirschner, Miso Kascak, Opak and others. That album wins the Slovak Gold plate award in 2009 and a Carrots Music Award.
