Pachanga

Pachanga is a Puerto Rican reggaeton group active since 2004. The act is made up of Jay Del Alma and Rico Caliente.

Style and repertoire

The group’s music combines reggaeton with a slight European influence, while drawing on a broad range of Latin American music. It presents itself as a kind of global music cooperative linked to the Latin American world.

Chart success in Europe

Pachanga has a recorded history of European singles success, particularly in Germany. The duo reaches the German singles chart Top 20 with “Loco” and later does so again with “Close to You”, which enters at number 16. These results establish the group as a reggaeton act with an audience in Germany, where the genre is otherwise relatively little known.
