Other Lives

Other Lives is an American indie rock band from Stillwater, Oklahoma. It forms in 2004 under the name Kunek and releases one album under that name in 2006, before continuing as Other Lives from 2008.

Line-up

The group consists of five members: Jesse Tabish on lead vocals, piano and guitar; Josh Onstott on bass and organ; Colby Owens on drums; Jonathan Mooney on keyboards and acoustic guitar; and Jenny Hsu on cello.

Releases

The band’s debut album as Other Lives is produced by Joey Waronker, who has worked with Beck and R.E.M., and issued through TBD Records. Its second album, Tamer Animals, appears in 2011 on the same label.

Early history

Before adopting the Other Lives name, the band records and releases Flight of the Flynns as Kunek, a single album that remains the only release under that earlier name. The project’s sound draws on indie, folk, post-rock and ambient influences.
