O.R.k.

O.R.k. is a collaborative progressive rock group from the United Kingdom featuring Lorenzo Esposito Fornasari, Carmelo Pipitone, Colin Edwin and Pat Mastelotto. The line-up brings together Fornasari, a vocalist and producer associated with Berserk! and Obake, guitarist Carmelo Pipitone from Marta sui Tubi, drummer Pat Mastelotto of King Crimson and bassist Colin Edwin of Porcupine Tree.

Style and sound

The group’s music combines progressive rock with elements of math rock, experimental rock and psychedelia. Its debut album, Inflamed rides, mixes acoustic psychedelia, precise rhythmic structures and ambient electronica. The record presents ten tracks and is described through imagery of controlled chaos, subconscious themes and recurring archetypal figures.

Among the album’s highlighted pieces are “Pyre”, which is paired with an animated video by Oktopus Productions, and “Funfair”, a track marked by abrupt urgency. O.R.k.’s work is presented as intricate but accessible, with a sound that combines heaviness, atmosphere and a sense of mischief.
