Opaque is the name used by several different acts, including a US techno producer, a Norwegian rapper, an experimental noise ensemble, a Peterborough band, a London producer and a Dutch harsh-noise artist. The techno producer is Joshua Collins from the United States.

Norwegian rapper and graffiti artist

Morten Aasdahl Eliassen, from Ellingsrud in Oslo, begins as a rapper and graffiti artist in the early 1990s. He raps in English and also makes songs in Norwegian under the name Mae. He performs in Valuable Scamps with Jan-Erik «Small MC» Nøkleby, Kenneth «Kennybong» Engen and DJ Daniel Gude. The group gets a record deal but does not release an album. He later joins Tommy Tee’s Tee Productions as a solo rapper and appears on Warlocks’ track Top Notch in 1997. His solo debut appears on Tee Productions in 2001, sells around 3,000 copies and is regarded as a Norwegian classic. His style draws strongly on Above the Law and Kokane.

Experimental ensemble

A separate Opaque is an improvisational, experimental noise-rock ensemble of changing size led by Lea Cummings. It begins in 1997 and continues to release albums and EPs on labels around the world.

Peterborough band

Another Opaque is a band from Peterborough, England. It releases several independent EPs, including Human Leaves and Organically Modified, as well as the album The Last Mustache.

London moniker

The name is also used by Paul “Seiji” Dolby of Bugz in the Attic, based in West London.

Dutch HNW project

A fifth Opaque is a Dutch HNW artist whose work focuses on Moncler Worship.
