Ono

Ono is a Chicago-based experimental noise and poetry performance group formed in 1980. The group begins with four artists sharing the name, but this entry refers to the band version rather than the other projects and solo artist listed alongside it. It is associated with experimental, psychedelic, avant-garde and lo-fi music.

History and releases

The group first releases two albums on the now defunct Thermidor label: Machines That Kill People in 1982 and Ennui in 1986. After a long break, Ono reforms and continues recording in the 2010s and 2020s.

Later albums

Since 2012, Ono releases five albums: Albino (2012), Diegesis (2014) and Spooks (2015) on Moniker Records, Your Future Is Metal (2018) on American Damage, and Red Summer (2020) on American Dreams Records.
