Object is the solo electro-industrial project of Andreas Malik, from Schweinfurt in Germany. The project forms in 1994 and uses dark, atmospheric electronic sounds rooted in old-school electro-industrial. Its style is associated with acts such as Placebo Effect, Mentallo & The Fixer and early yelworC.
Recorded output
Object releases a sequence of albums and EPs on labels including Broken Seal Records, Vendetta Music and Electro Aggression Records. The official releases listed are Part-Time Paranoia in 2001, The Reflecting Skin in 2002, The Ethane Asylum in 2008, and Mechanisms of Faith in 2012. Mechanisms of Faith is a double CD with a main disc of 15 tracks and a second disc, Old School Conspiracy, made up of remixes.
Collaborations and remixes
The remix disc on Mechanisms of Faith features contributions from electro-industrial figures including Sleepwalk, Controlled Fusion and Abscess. The project’s listed labels show an association with the electro-industrial and industrial scenes across its releases.
