Nostalgia 77

Nostalgia 77 is the studio project of British artist Ben Lamdin, who also uses the name The Hermit. The project is based in the United Kingdom and works across dance and electronica, with material that also draws on jazz-oriented styles.

Under the Nostalgia 77 name, Lamdin produces a body of studio albums and singles, while the live version of the project appears as Nostalgia 77 Octet. The music combines heavy funk, hip-hop-based rhythms, dusty jazz textures, obscure funk and short electronic fragments.

Its influences include free jazz, spiritual jazz, 1960s funk and soul, and Afro sounds. Lamdin signs to Tru Thoughts in 2002.
