Nomads

Nomads are a group from France associated with the French euro house track “Yakalelo”. The lineup includes Laurent Dafurio, Philippe Jacquot and Earl Talbot.

The act is also described as a Franco-Algerian world music band, with Philippe Jacquot on guitars, Laurent Dafurio on percussion, Earl Talbot on vocals, and Ahmed Hamidou Takdjout on vocals, violin and lute. “Yakalelo” is noted as their best-known song and as a summer hit from 1998.

The name is shared by several other acts, including a hardcore band, a reggae band that releases the album Unity on Strictly Roots Records in 1988, a post-rock band from Cleveland, Ohio formed in 2011, and a band from Bath, UK.
