Noisettes

Noisettes are a UK indie rock group from Croydon, formed in 2003. The line-up includes Shingai, Dan Smith and Jamie Morrison. The band begins when Shingai Shoniwa and Dan Smith, formerly of Sonarfly, start writing and performing together more intensively, and Morrison joins in December 2003.

Early recordings and label history

The group goes into the studio soon after forming to record a four-track debut, Three Moods of the Noisettes, issued on Side Salad Records. They later sign to Universal Records.

Albums and singles

Their debut album, What’s The Time Mr Wolf?, is released in 2007. Their second album, Wild Young Hearts, follows in 2009. The band’s early run of singles includes IWE, Scratch Your Name, Don’t Give Up, Sister Rosetta (Capture the Spirit), The Count of Monte Christo, Wild Young Hearts and Don’t Upset The Rhythm (Go Baby Go).

Notable exposure

Don’t Upset The Rhythm appears in an advert for the Mazda 2, and the song also features on Now! 72.
